We Have a Request
Do you have any working MP3 players’, i pod’s or something similar that you are no longer using and don’t know what to do with it? If yes, please can you drop them in/send them to our team member Kris Rucker who is collecting them on behalf of a friend who is a music therapist.
Kris’ friend Carl visits care homes and uses music from various eras to cheer up many of the residents who find comfort and happiness in listening to music. This is a worthy cause to help with if you can
Here is a link to Carl’s post on Facebook for further information.
Carl Bryant – I need your help!
What An Athletic Team We’ve Become.
Well over the past years I’ve noticed that some of our team members are quite the healthy bunch. We have walkers, cyclists, gym members and runners, (I might just dig out my roller skates from the back of the cupboard and join them.)
Spotted In The Newport Marathon
One of our team, Darran ran the ABP Newport Wales Marathon at the beginning of May.
That’s a whopping stretch of 26.2 miles and approximately 56,000 steps around the streets of Newport plus parts of Monmouthshire. Darran was one of the 6,000 runners who competed and munched their way through 4,500 bananas.
Despite carrying a knee injury, he achieved a great time.
Well done Darran. Such a fantastic personal achievement.
Race For Life Swansea
Well done to our AAT trainee Chloe Griffiths on completing the Race for Life this year with her mum.
Chloe’s mum, Sharon celebrated 10 years of being cancer free this year. When she was in hospital receiving treatment, Sharon watched the Race for Life from her window and vowed to walk it the following year, which she did and 10 years later along with her daughter Chloe they ran the 5 k this year.
Makes you realise how precious life is and what we can achieve when we set our mind to it. Another great personal achievement.
