Going Up – The National Living Wage and The National Minimum Wage

EasyBooks Self Assessment Deadlines for 2016/2017
Please note our deadlines for receiving your Self Assessment Paperwork for 2017
 
DEADLINE 1- FRIDAY, 28th July 2017, 5pm
If you bring in your paperwork before this date, no additional charges will be added. However, if you bring your paperwork to us after this date, an additional 5% charge will be applied to your
total invoice.
 
DEADLINE 2 – FRIDAY, 10th November 2017, 5pm
This is the final deadline for paperwork. Anything brought into us after this date will receive a 20% additional charge added to the final invoice. Plus we cannot guarantee to submit your tax return on time.
 
Can you please check all of your relevant paperwork and documents are brought to us, as missing items (e.g. bank statements) delay the whole process and increase the time it takes us to complete the work!
 Increases To The National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage.
1st April 2017 saw the National Living Wage increase to £7.50 per hour for employees aged 25 and over. This is the ongoing yearly increase commitment from The Government.
The National Minimum Wage for all other age groups, has also increased from the 1st April. You, as the employer must ensure you’re paying all your staff on the appropriate rates. Please check your employee arrangements and inform us at EasyBooks of any updates to your payroll rates as appropriate.
Here are a few pointers to consider: –
  • Check and make a note of all employees over 25 who are eligible in your work place for the National Living Wage.
  • Check and make a note of all other employees under 25 who fall into the various National Minimum Wages section, are receiving their correct wage.
  • Take appropriate payroll action
  • Inform your employees of their new pay rate.
