The law on workplace pensions has changed. Under the pensions Act 2008, every employer in the UK must put certain eligible staff into a pension scheme and contribute towards it. This is called ‘automatic enrolment’.
Whether you’re a hairdresser, an architect or employ a personal care assistant, if you employ
at least one person you are an employer and you have certain legal duties. If you fail to comply with your duties, you may have enforcement action taken against you and a penalty. Find out your staging date and act now. |

Companies House Scam Alert!!!
If you are set up with Companies House please be aware of any scam letters or emails that may come your way.
A new Client at EasyBooks received a letter with instructions to visit a website ‘regist.co.uk’ under the name of ‘Register of Companies and Businesses’ and a request of payment ‘for the publication of your company.’
Thankfully our client was wise enough not to send any money and checked with us if any of this was true. We were able to advise her that once registered at Companies House there is no further payment needed. Here are the names of other alleged scam company names to look out for listed on the Gov.uk/companies house website, along with the one above.

These organisations are not connected to, or endorsed by, either Companies House or GOV.UK and the fee requested is not required to keep the company registed at Companies House. If you have been contacted by any of these companies you can check them out at www.gov.uk and search for ‘reporting fraud to Companies House.’ |
